Our ConnectionsOther areas where Ian & Alyson are involved in leading, volunteering or supporting
Ian is an active member of the BAM Global Think Tank, linking practitioners who are actively engaged in doing and supporting business as mission. Ian has worked with colleagues from Australia, Costa Rica, New Zealand, Pakistan, Singapore, Sweden, United States and the United Kingdom in producing the The Biblical Models Report.
Ian is the technical lead for the BEQ Network. Business EQ is about helping everyone within an organisation to recognize their own emotions, and those of others by developing their Emotional Quotient (EQ). Business EQ provides a unique forum for connection and collaboration.
The strategic role of leaders places them at the heart of our society. Leaders are ideally placed to grow individuals, communities, cities, countries and nations. Founded in 2019, and led by Ian & Alyson, the vision of Catalyst is to be a stimulus for unity across the entire spectrum of place leadership. Be it Church, Commercial, Civic or Community, Catalyst creates contexts for connections, growth and transformation.
Ian is a consultant for the Evangelical Alliance working as part of the Public Leadership project. Ian’s role includes growing, networking and resourcing business owners and business leaders across the United Kingdom. Public Leadership is about equipping, resourcing and encouraging Christians, across all sectors of our society, to live out their faith in a way that changes culture, by intentionally and strategically taking a lead.
Founded in 2004, and after 15 years of leadership by Ian & Alyson, One Heart One Voice became a constituted group with a nominated Chair, Secretary and Treasurer in 2018/19. One Heart One Voice is now dedicated to growing, networking and resourcing Church Ministers. Led by a committee of church leaders, it exists as a network of relationships, working across the Borough of Doncaster.
Ian & Alyson have been in partnership with The Ground Level Network since 1998. Ground Level exists as a family of churches that empower, support and care for the local church, its leaders and its ministries. They seek to have a growing influence in our world and believe that the Church is to be a prophetic voice that is characterised by a strong commitment to Word and Spirit.
Ian actively supports the Launchpad Doncaster programme and is a registered mentor. Provided by Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council, the Launchpad Doncaster service is a dedicated ‘business to business’ mentoring opportunity, which is offered as part of the wider Business Doncaster support service. Mentors are individuals, like Ian, who own their own business (entrepreneurs) or individuals currently employed in a local Doncaster business. They give their time for free to support others in establishing and running a business in Doncaster. If you are interested or have any questions about the Launchpad Doncaster scheme, simply contact the team by telephone on 01302 734556.
Ian is a registered mentor with The Mentor Network. In 2014, after consultation with various bodies and experienced mentors, CPAS and the The Evangelical Alliance formed a partnership to launch The Mentor Network as a gateway for connecting those looking for mentors with skilled and carefully selected mentors. All three organisations are committed to great leadership in churches and Christian organisations. As part of that, they have seen the benefit that mentoring brings to the development of leaders.
